Another first--drawing!

Before my drawing studio class started today I had drawn one picture in my life. Granted, I doodle constantly in class. So, today I attempted a drawing assignment that was to draw a paper lunch bag, draw it again with an object next to it, then alter the bag and draw it again. I hope my drawing skills will greatly improve over the semester (I clearly have lots to learn) but for now I'm just doing what I can!

So, first the plain paper bag:

Then, paper bag with a lighter I bought today (for step 3)

Lastly, I burned the bag and drew it again.

 

One minute sculptures

These are photographs of sculptures I made in 1 minute or less using objects found in my dorm room. The task was to use/combine objects or bodies in unexpected ways. This assignment was for my Space Research class (my first art class at art school!). Special thanks to my models Sasha Kanarski and Annie Watts!
