Transformation Animation

Time assignment: Create a hand-drawn animation in which at least three objects transform into each other, with the last object transforming into the first.

Art Book

Surface assignment: Make a book in which the book is the art. I decided to make a carousel book (aka star book). And of course, for the content of the book I decided to display my go-to topic: words! I like to incorporate words, languages, phonetics, etc. into projects, it seems. Anyway, I thought of 5 different definitions of the word "bird" and displayed each on a different page of the book with a drawing of the thing. Nowhere in the book do I use the word "bird." The title is the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) spelling of bird. On the back is the IPA spelling of my name.

Cheeken!

Surface assignment: Paint an animal using one repeated shape or brushstroke throughout. This painting turned out fairly dark. And although I had to use one repeated shape for this painting, I will probably revisit this painting this summer (which is oh so close!) and cover over the repeated shape. I like the idea of having a purple chicken painting in my kitchen next year...just not this one.

Portrait

For Time Studio we had to create a short video portrait of someone. I portrayed my suite mate Maddy.

P.S.-
Now I'm going to take a minute to talk about me, myself, and I. I'm in the Art Foundation program at VCU this year which is a one year program. Near the end of the year though, AFO students have to apply to a major and wait nervously to find out if they will get into 1) an art major at all and 2) the major they want.  A few weeks ago I submitted my portfolio and application to the Photography program. Annddddd today I found out that I got in! So expect mostly photographs next year on my little bloggy blog :)
